Mentoring and After-School/Out of School Programs


Project Prosperity and Faith Inc (PPF, Inc) has several mentoring programs that focus on youth development. They are as follows:


  • The Intergenerational Concepts Embracing the Future (ICEF) - The program matches retired senior citizens with inter-city youth. Young adults are also matched with seniors that reside in nursing homes or individuals with disabilities. 

  • Guidance, Education, & Leadership (GEL) - A traditional mentoring program for youth ages 5-17 or young adults ages 18-21 that have “aged out” of the foster care population but are still in need of additional life skills and other support and services. 

  • The Youth Center for Entrepreneurship - Provides youth with Financial Literacy Education & Personal Money Management, and hands on Entrepreneurship experience/skills. Youth produce and sell their own products to fund field trips and activities. Youth are also match with a Professional Mentor within a Profession that is the choice of each child.  Youth learn the importance of dedication, working hard, and being self-sufficient.  

  • After-School/Out of School/Tutoring Program - Tutors are utilized for after-school programs for grades 1-12.  The Program provides Supplemental Education Services (SES) No Child Left Behind – Title 1 Tutoring Services, but also accepts children/youth that do not qualify for SES - No Child Left BehindTitle 1 Tutoring Services.

  • Life Skills and Character Education - This program offers a curriculum contains necessary knowledge to enable students to think through adn solve important problems. It equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to set goals for themselves and make better life choices.

All tutors and volunteers are required to attend mentoring trainings and must complete and pass a background check.  There is a mentoring certificate provided for individuals that complete additional mentoring trainings beyond the required mentoring trainings.
